Artifact - WOOF3D

In early 2021, halfway through my first year of college, which had been entirely online, I decided that I wanted to join a club. I read about WOOF3D, UW's 3D printing club, in the RSO directory, and decided that it sounded interesting. I already knew some of the officers from high school, and was passionate about 3D printing, so I decided to join.

By the start of the next school year, I was an officer and project lead. This meant that in addition to helping teach club members and operate the equipment, I also helped run the club from the administrative front. Everything seemed like it was going well. Then, disaster struck.

With no notice, we were kicked out of our club room and were given less than a month to find a new space and keep the club afloat. We needed to find a new space and department sponsor, move the equipment to the new space, and maintain a good public image, all in the span of a month.

With quick thinking and by taking initiative, we were able to adapt to the situation at hand and find a new club space in the 8 Makerspace. The club is thriving and is doing better than ever, and we have been able to reposition the club as a more education-oriented club.
