Artifact - Figuring Out What I Want to do

This quarter I spent more time thinking about my future and what I wanted to do than I ever had before. This was due to many small factors, including:

  • Working closely with startups in my job at CoMotion Labs
  • Thinking about participating in the Dempsey startup competition
  • Attending the Hollomon Health competition showcase
  • Watching videos about the new frontier of computing - analog computing
  • Learning about DNA and its ties to computers in my HONORS 221 class
  • Applying to countless jobs and internships for the summer
  • Attending a WOOF3D event where a graduate student panel talked about their experiences pursuing Ph.D.'s
  • Freelancing on Fiverr and thinking about doing product design or management as a career
  • Taking time to reflect on where I was in my career journey and where I wanted to end up

I've found that I'm the kind of person that the more I learn, the more I want to learn - I'm naturally curious. While this is often a good thing, it can be detrimental. I find that I am easily distracted and have a hard time sticking with something for a long time. I think that it is important to have curiosity, but also important to be able to commit to something for a long period of time.
